Salted Macadamia Nuts

Partially broken macadamia nuts, roasted and salted after the harvest. The shell of the macadamia nut is very hard and relatively thick. When the shell is cracked, some nuts will break. In wholesale trade, broken nuts are worth less than whole ones, even though their taste is not affected in any way.
Nuts and seeds stay fresh longer when they are stored in a cool, dark place and, most importantly, protected from moisture. At storage temperatures below 16°C, pests such as moths don’t stand a chance. Store nuts in the refrigerator or in a cellar, for example. Use an airtight container to protect them from moisture.
